Former NBA MVP Bill Walton goes over some fun and challenging practice games that will sharpen your skills as a shooter. Bill Walton discusses how to start shooting practice and describes a couple of shooting games.
Key Points:
Shooting Drills: Everyday starts the shooting practice right under the basket. As you make a shot, take a half step back. Remember to step forward to shoot up. It's the forward momentum from the step that will help with the distance. Distance comes from the legs, not the upper body.
Shots on the Move: Play shooting games. When the shooter on the move from elbow to elbow, how many made shots out of ten shots taken. When there are three players, start a game of one-on-two. The player with the ball is on offense. When the shot goes up, the rebounder takes the ball past the 3-point line and then attacks the hoop against the other two players.
